What is Equine Therapy?

“Equine therapy” is probably the most commonly used term to describe therapeutic services involving horses. It is the most commonly searched term online, and we as practitioners use it all the time.

But, there is a problem—it’s incorrect and it’s confusing.

Using the term “equine therapy” to label the work that we do in equine assisted services not only muddies our work, but complicates marketing and most importantly, leaves consumers confused and often seeking the wrong services for their needs.

On April 3rd, our CEO Bettina Shultz-Jobe will be hosting a webinar about what equine therapy is (and isn’t) and how those of us who provide equine assisted services can talk about what we do in a way that’s accurate and provides more clarity about how we work with clients.
